HAMPSHIRE villagers recently joined a group of Ukrainians in an evening of carol singing.
The group went to 13 places in Colden Common for some festive fun on Thursday, December 21.
Marilyn Taylor, from the group Colden Common For Ukraine, said: “Our Ukrainian friends led the way with traditional stars, and in national costume.

“The group included a Ukrainian dancer, and we heralded our progress with bells, as is the way in Ukraine. We were enthusiastically accompanied by Bert Simmonds on alto saxaphone.
“The weather was kind to us, and we all enjoyed sharing our various Christmas traditions and carols with the local community.
“One generous family gave us mulled wine and mince pies, before we stopped for similar reinforcements at the Rising Sun.
“We finished at the Brambridge Arms, with a warm welcome, as we encouraged everyone to join in the singing.”
