THERE will be a Christmas Carols in the Park event in South Wonston next weekend.

The event will take place at South Wonston Pavilion on Saturday, December 16 at 4.30pm. Maddison and her choral group from Mad Melodies Choir will be performing a range of Christmas carols for all to enjoy. Children are invited to join in the singing.

Hot drinks and mulled wine will be available. There will also be a special visit from Father Christmas.

SOUTH Wonston Sustainability will be holding a Christmas get together at the Drovers on Downs Road on Thursday, December 7. The gathering will kick off at approximately 7.30pm, and is open and free for all to attend.

MICHELDEVER Variety Group has announced its Christmas production, Happy Ever After.

The play will run at Northbrook Hall, Micheldever from Thursday, January 25 to Sunday, January 28. There will be two performances on Saturday, January 27. Tickets are currently available to purchase online and cost £13 for adults and £10 for concessions (those under 12 and over 65).

The group’s Play in A Week will also be returning next year. Running from April 2 to April 6, the play will be Matilda. Places will cost £100 each. More information can be found on the Micheldever Variety Group website.

BREAKFAST with Santa will be returning to The Coach and Horses on Oxford Road, Sutton Scotney on Saturday, December 16. The pub will have a full breakfast on offer from 9.30am to 10.30am. To book or find more information, contact the pub directly.

THE Dever Singers are holding their Christmas Concerts on Saturday, December 9 at St Margaret’s Church, South Wonston and Sunday, December 10 at St Mary the Virgin Church, Micheldever. The concerts will feature a retiring collection for church funds.

THE South Wonston Parish Council community café has returned.

The café runs every Monday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. It offers free tea, coffee, biscuits and soup to attendees and is open to everyone. It is based in the South Wonston Sports and Recreation Pavilion.

THE next Wonston Community Café will be at the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney, 9.30am–12 noon on Wednesday, December 13, a week earlier than usual.  This month it will be raising funds to support Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity which helps families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.

SUTTON Scotney Divos' and Devers have announced their 2023 Christmas panto, The Wizard of Oz.

Performances will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday, December 7 to Saturday, December 9 with matinee performances at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday, December 10. The performances will be held at Victoria Hall, on Wonston Close.

The show is appropriate for all the family, and tickets are now on sale. All proceeds go to charity, including the Victoria Hall.

THE Gratton Trust and Victoria Hall are holding a “Jingle and Mingle” event on Saturday, December 16.

Held from 5pm to 7pm at the Victoria Hall, in Sutton Scotney, the event be a Christmas sing-along, open to all. Refreshments will be available.
